It’s important to stay informed about testosterone product availability. Tshortages now offers a simple way to follow changes to product and shortage pages without requiring users to create an account here or share their email address directly with this site.
Page Change Alerts Now Available
Tshortages uses PageCrawl.io for page-based alerts.
On Product pages and Shortage Report pages, you’ll see a Get alerts button. Clicking it lets you use PageCrawl to monitor that specific page for changes and receive notifications when updates are detected.
This approach is intentionally simple and privacy-focused:
- No Tshortages user account is required (although a PageCrawl account is required)
- Tshortages does not collect or store your email address for alerts
- You choose exactly which pages to monitor
For example:
- On a Product page, you can track whether that product’s shortage status changes over time
- On a Shortage Report page, you can track updates to that specific shortage report
Putting Your Privacy First
Subscribing to alerts about testosterone products can reveal sensitive health-related information. Because of this, Tshortages prioritizes a privacy-conscious approach to notifications.
Different alert methods were considered. Web push notifications were tested extensively, but proved unreliable across browsers and devices. The mobile experience, especially on iOS, required multiple steps and produced inconsistent results. Email alerts were also considered, but would require collecting and storing personal data, along with meeting strict privacy and compliance requirements. Instead, Tshortages chose the page monitoring approach so that alerts are simple to setup, reliable across devices and privacy-oriented.
Health Canada’s Alert System
Health Canada also operates an official drug shortage notification system at healthproductshortages.ca. That system covers prescription drug shortages across Canada, including testosterone products. Users can create a free account and subscribe to notifications for specific medications.
While Tshortages is designed to be easier to use and focused specifically on testosterone products, Health Canada’s system remains a reliable option for email alerts.
